How overtime is calculated in Brazil
Hourly rate = (salary + allowances) ÷ monthly divisor (220 for a 44-hour week). Overtime is paid at least 50% above the normal rate, and usually 100% on Sundays and holidays. Night work (10pm–5am) earns a 20% premium, and each night hour counts as 52.5 minutes. Habitual overtime also increases the paid weekly rest (DSR) and counts toward vacation, 13th salary, notice and FGTS.
